Erica Chisanga, Consultant Nurse Neurosciences - pivotal in developing epilepsy nurse specialists across the country.

Erica Chisanga is Nurse Consultant, Specialist Epilepsy nurse and  leads the Nurse led Epilepsy clinic.

She has worked at Cambridge University Hospitals Neurosciences for 17.5 years working with Dr Manford and Dr Mitchell. She has developed both professionally and personally.

Prior to working at Addenbrooke’s hospital she worked at St Georges Hospital in London for 4 years and Newcastle General Hospital for 3 years.

She has played a key part in helping to lead neuroscience patient service developments here at Cambridge University Hospitals. Erica became a nurse prescriber early in her role and went on to undertake a Masters in Medical Management. She has had a pivotal role in developing epilepsy nurse specialists across the country. She is exemplary and an inspirational nurse leader nationally. Erica is passionate about making a difference to patients particularly those with epilepsy. 

She has also been active in working Trust wide to promote race equality as part of the Trust’s BAME staff network and she helped to co-produce the Trust’s WRES action plan and has been engaging her division in this work. We: her  Divisional Director  Mark Manford and the senior management team  and I as Equality and Diversity lead are delighted to nominate her.
